On Sunday, Aug. 31, the Racers beat the Marshall Thundering Herd 3-2. The back and fourth battle was a hard fought win for the Racers, with each team receiving at least one red card.
In the first half, Lia Manuel scored her first collegiate goal in her first minutes in the game, leaving the score tied 1-1 at the half. Early in the second half, Sydney Etter scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Breece Bass. The Herd responded with a goal in the 78th minute, leaving the game tied with 12 minutes to play. The Racers answered four minutes after with a goal from Breece Bass, sealing the win for the Racers.
