On Thursday, Nov. 6, Murray State’s season came to an end in the semifinal round of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship.
A goal from Mary Hardy put the Racers ahead late in the first half, leaving the score 1-0 at the half.
The Racers retained the lead until the 86th minute when the Flames scored off of a penalty kick, tying the game with four minutes left to play.
After a scoreless 20 minute overtime, the game went to a penalty shootout where the Flames ultimately defeated the Racers 4-3.
The Racers finished the year with a 10-4-5 record and ended MVC play with a record of 5-1-3.
