The Racers overcame a 1-0 deficit to defeat the UIC Flames for the first time in program history with two goals from Ava Roberson on Thursday, Oct. 23, in Chicago. This is the Racers’ third straight win and they are now ranked third in the Missouri Valley Conference.
After the Flames made it on the scoreboard during the 12th minute, junior Ava Roberson responded with an assist from senior Mary Hardy and sophomore Lia Manuel seven minutes before the end of the first half.
Roberson scored her second and the game-winning goal in the 59th minute from assists by Hardy and senior Megan Wilson. Hardy’s second assist made her the first Racer this season to earn multiple assists in a single game.
The Racers return to the road in hopes of extending their win streak to four at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16, at Valparaiso.

Go Ava! Even though they spelt you name wrong in the title, still a pretty ok article.
