The Student Government Association concluded their last meeting of the 2025-26 academic year by distributing awards to senators.
The Jeanie Morgan SGA awards were given to Carson Todd, senate director of University affairs; Brady Doninger, senator of the College of Humanities and Fine Arts; Sydney Foltz, senator of the College of Education and Human Services; Audrey Hart, Campus Activities Board (CAB) publicity director; and Ty Boggess, CAB entertainment director. These awards were voted to be named after Jeanie Morgan in 2018 for her 48 years of service to Murray State University and SGA, serving as the student activities coordinator in the Center for Student Involvement until 2023. The awards also contain scholarships funded by former SGA members.
The outstanding residential college senator award was given to Sydney Naber, senator of Franklin Hall. The award recognizes consistent attendance to Student Senate meetings and reporting.
The outstanding senate director award was given to Carson Todd. This award celebrates quality reporting and the maintaining of connections with University leaders.
The outstanding academic college senator award was given to Jesse Hutchens, senator of the Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business. This award recognizes individuals who act as a good example to others on campus and exemplify what it means to be an SGA senator.
The senator at large award was given to Cady Zellers. This award recognizes proactive involvement in campus organizations and representing SGA.
Brooklyn Williams, executive vice president of SGA, presented the outstanding CAB director award to Jenna Visengardi, CAB homecoming director. This award recognizes Visengardi’s role in organizing Homecoming and Murray Madness.
Katherine Stark, Residential College Association president, presented the outstanding RCA officer award to Elena Pruett, vice president of recognition, for her work in representing Murray State University during regional conferences. The outstanding RCC president award was presented to Eliana Flinchum, vice president of records and finance, for hosting an event at her residential college every week, accruing over a thousand attendees in the course of one year.
The outstanding Judicial Board justice award was presented by Piper McClain, Judicial Board chief justice, to Makayla Blazier, associate chief justice. This award is dedicated to members who exemplify integrity, fairness and dedication in the organization.
McClain later swore in the newly elected members to the Judicial Board. Cesar Villeda, the new president of SGA, swore in the newly elected senators into their vacant positions.
