Ron Patterson, Murray State president, provided updates on the vacant positions for provost, senior vice president of financial affairs, and dean of the College of Business and Humanities and Fine Arts.
“As you all know we have two executive searches going on right now for the provost and academic affairs position,” Patterson said, “We are down to four candidates, who will hopefully be on campus the first week of December.”
An exact date has yet to be given for when the candidates will arrive, though the event will act as a forum for student input. But Patterson said interviews for senior vice president of financial affairs will be conducted Nov. 20 and 21.
“If everything goes well, hopefully we’ll have people named by early spring,” Patterson said.
Wednesday’s meeting concluded SGA’s weekly Student Senate schedule for this semester. Though, one more congregation will be held on Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. at Winslow Dining Hall for an Almost Midnight Breakfast. SGA meetings will resume starting on Jan. 14, 2026.
