Cesar Villeda, director of election ways and means, announced the two constitutional amendments passed by the Student Senate on Oct. 29, would be left up to the student body of Murray State, before another vote by the Board of Regents.
The election takes place Nov. 24 – 25.
Villeda said that the language of these amendments will be changed for these elections, as opposed to reviewing each document in its entirety. The student body will receive them as a yes or no question.
“Should the SGA vice president of finance be merged with the vice president of administration and a new role, vice president of connections, be created? The vice president of student connections will work directly with registered student organizations,” the first ballot reads.
“Should an additional qualification be added to be eligible for SGA executive roles? One academic year of SGA involvement for president and executive vice president, and one semester of SGA involvement for the other two executive positions,” the second ballot reads.
Senators At Large Cady Zellers and Evan Wilson announced that the student organization for Wildlife Society will be conducting a meeting on Nov. 19. The event will be focused on teaching members how to prepare wild game for consumption.
This organization primarily focuses on pursuing advancements in wildlife conservation. To this end, they often invite professionals to give insight into their careers and offer advice to enterprising members.
