On Saturday, the Racers faced off against the Illinois State Redbirds for their Homecoming game. While the loss in not the outcome most hoped for, the Racers never stopped fighting against the 16th ranked team.
Jawaun Northington led the Racers with his first career 100-yard game, accompanied with two touchdowns. The Racers defense made several big plays, including two key pass breakups from defensive back Davon Marton, keeping the game close.
The Redbirds were able to hold onto their lead, ending the game with a final score of 40-32.
