On Saturday night the Racers took on Mississippi Valley State and walked away with a dominant 59-8 win. This marks Jody Wright’s first win as a head coach, and the first win of the season for Murray State. The Racers started scoring early with a touchdown from Justice Hill within the first two minutes of the game, quickly followed by a fumble recovery touchdown from Tyson Meiguez. Murray State continued to dominate with multiple players scoring touchdowns, and a career-best 54 yard field goal from James London. Kywon Morgan started the second half with a 45 yard run for a touchdown, putting the score at 38-8. The Racers would go on to score 59 points in the game, and would not allow a single point to be scored by Mississippi Valley State in the second half. Final score: 59-8.
