The Murray State Public Relations Student Society of America meeting will be visited by Murray State alum and former editor-in-chief of The Murray State News, Ashley Bitters.
Bitters is an account director for RunSwitch PR, which, according to Murray State PRSSA, is the largest public relations agency in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
“A media and communications professional with a demonstrated work history in news media, storytelling, and issue advocacy,” her bio reads. “Since joining RunSwitch, Ashley has put her fast-paced skills and knowledge to work for clients’ public relations and public affairs campaigns through writing, strategy, and grassroots coalition building.”
Natalie Gardner, Murray State PRSSA president, said this is a great opportunity for attendees.
“Hearing directly from an account executive at Kentucky’s largest PR agency gives our members a unique opportunity to gain real-world insight and start envisioning what a career in public relations can look like,” Gardner said. “This meeting is a chance for students to build connections with a professional and take away advice that will prepare them for internships and life after graduation.”
Bitters will be giving her presentation, “If You Don’t Tell Your Story, Someone (or No One) Else Will,” at the Murray State PRSSA meeting at 5:15 p.m.,Thursday, Sept. 11, in Wilson Hall 212.
