Greek life and photography meet charity at the upcoming runway show hosted by Angel’s Attic. Members of both Murray State’s greek life and Photography Club have partnered up with a local thrift store to model and photograph pieces available for purchase.
“Angel’s Attic sells all sorts of items: furniture, household goods, books, toys, jewelry, shoes and antique or collectible items,” said Bonnie Higginson, a member of the Angel’s Attic Board of Directors and volunteer. “However, our largest category is clothing and that is what we want to highlight in the fashion show.”
The thrift store provides monthly financial support to Murray Calloway County Need Line and HOPE Calloway, as well as other non-profits when needed.
Those attending the event will see members of Murray State’s Greek Life modeling their chosen outfits in all styles as Photography Club members snap pictures for the store’s Facebook and Instagram.
Maigan Cope, a junior accounting major from Clarksville, Tennessee, is one of the models attendees will see on the runway.
“I was nominated by Delta Zeta to participate in the event, but I was excited at the opportunity to participate and support a good cause,” Cope said. “I can’t wait for the event because I love all things fashion and clothes.”
The event takes place Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the third floor of the Curris Center. Entry cost is $1.
Angel’s Attic is located at 972 Chestnut St. The store is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
