Even though the semester is nearing its end, it is never too late to join a new organization or two. Once more, here is a handful of campus organizations you could consider joining.

Amnesty International

Students interested in human rights should consider joining Amnesty International, a campus chapter of a global movement devoted to human rights. Club President Audrey Stallings said there are opportunities to network with human rights experts, not only across the country but also the world. Club meetings are held at 5 p.m. on Thursdays in Faculty Hall 105.

Mock Trial Club

If you are thinking about becoming a lawyer one day, consider joining the Mock Trial Club. Students involved in the Mock Trial Club are given the opportunity to develop basic trial advocacy and participate in sanctioned competitions. Club President Alexis Harp said the goal is to create an inviting social environment for members to not only work together but learn legal processes.  Meetings are held from 4-6 p.m. on Mondays in Faculty Hall 509.

Psychology Club

Interested in the study of the mind and behaviors? The Psychology Club might be the perfect place for you! This club offers students the opportunity to engage in social, educational and service activities. The club meets biweekly at 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays in Wells 111, with their next meeting taking place on Nov. 9.

Alliance

Alliance is one of Murray State’s LGBTQ+ student organizations and is centered around creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone and providing support for LGBTQ+ students. If you are interested in learning more about Alliance and its events, follow them on Instagram at @msu_alliance.

Sociology Club

The Sociology Club is an organization focused on helping the community and making society a better place through fundraising events. Club President Jacob Kennedy said, “Throughout each semester, members of the club vote for a local non-profit organization to donate the money we raise.” If you are interested in helping improve the lives of countless individuals, then consider joining the Sociology Club. Meetings are biweekly at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays in Faculty Hall 500,  with their next meeting taking place on Nov. 16.

Political Science Club

Do you want to have engaging conversations about current and past political events? The Political Science Club offers students that and more. Club President RhyLee Sprague said, “The club focuses on working with the Democratic and Republican clubs to allow both sides to have a voice, while also hosting fun events to inform students in an attention-catching way.” The Political Science Club meets biweekly at 5 p.m. on Tuesdays in Faculty Hall 107, with their next meeting on Nov. 7.
