After competing in three meets this season, the Racer cross country teams will finish their season by running in the OVC Championship meet on Monday, March 1.

In the 2019 season, the men’s team finished sixth while the women finished eighth overall in the OVC Championship.

Emma Graf was a freshman in the 2019 season when she finished 26th overall and first for the Racers at 18:57.5. The now-juniors Emma Creviston and Dani Wright followed Graf, finishing at 19:18.9 and 19:21.9, respectively, and finished 40th and 44th.

Current senior Caleb Kawasaki was the top finisher for the Racers in last year’s OVC Championship for the men, with a time of 25:34.7, good for 18th place.

Head Coach Adam Kiesler said the Racers have used this season to work and improve for the OVC Championship.

“Overall we are working for the March 1 date of the OVC to do as well as we can,” Kiesler said.

Assistant Coach Jordan Wallace also said how the Racers can improve before running in the championship meet.

“What I’m really looking for on the women’s side in the OVC Championship is a solid number five to be able to come in and close the gap and be closer to our number three and four,” Wallace said.

The Racers will travel to Clarksville, Tennessee to compete in the OVC Championship.
