Freshman Liz Smith helped the Racers bring home a fourth-place team finish at Louisville’s 23rd annual Live in the Lou Cross Country Classic, one of the largest cross country meets in the United States.
Smith took a third-overall finish in the women’s 5k with a time of 18:16. Her teammates Alyssa Moore, Autumn Egleston, and Jocelyn Host finished less than 50 seconds behind her, each earning top-40 finishes.
Dylan Ellis returned home to lead the men’s cross country team with a 54th place finish in the men’s 8k. He graduated from Eastern High School in Louisville in May, and has competed in three collegiate races this season. Jarod Willis also earned a top-100 spot with a time of 26:06.
