As the change in seasons approaches, so does the cold and its illnesses like the flu and even COVID-19.
Despite the recent controversy and politically increasing circumstances from the Department of Health and Health Services, those in the Murray-Calloway County area can still receive vaccinations.
According to The New York Times, RFK Jr’s federal vaccine committee unanimously voted to limit COVID-19 vaccines, recommending that adults 65 and older only receive shots after discussing the benefits and risks with a health care provider.
Kennedy also rescinded endorsements for some flu vaccines in July. The New York Times writes it was because the affected vaccines contained a preservative feared to cause autism and would not be recommended by federal guidelines.
The panel said anyone ages six months to 64 years could receive the COVID-19 vaccine if they consulted with a provider.
