The Murray State men’s golf team placed second out of fifteen teams at their opening fall event, the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational in Huntington, West Virginia on Sept. 8-9.
Only eight shots behind first place Eastern Kentucky, the Racers secured runner-up with scores of 280-271=551. Junior and 2025 MVC individual champion Trey Wall took second place with scores of 66-66=132. He shot one behind freshman Wes Lorish of Marshall University (65-66=131).
The invitational, hosted at Guyan Country Club, consisted of a 36 hole round on Monday morning and an 18 hole round Tuesday morning. The Racers were the only team from the Missouri Valley Conference in attendance.
The Racers will compete again on Sept. 15-16 at the Grover Page Classic in Memphis, Tennessee.
