A former Murray State cheerleader is facing a first-degree rape charge.

Dannis Seay, 25, of Murray, was arraigned in Calloway County Circuit Court on Tuesday, July 2.

Seay, a graduate student, entered a not guilty plea according to WKMS.

According to the court docket, the charge is considered first-degree because the victim was “incapable of consent/physically helpless.”

First-degree rape is a Class B felony that carries a punishment of up to 10 to 20 years in prison.

Seay is currently out of jail on bond.

Seay was a Murray State cheerleader from 2015 to 2019.
