Senior Alexis Love and sophomore Tonia Pratt were named the OVC’s ADIDAS Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their performances over the weekend at the Niswonger Invitational.
Both Love and Pratt took titles at the meet hosted by Eastern Tennessee State. Love took home the crown in the 200m dash with a time of 24.58 (24.18 in the prelims). The race was Love’s first appearance in the 200 this season. Love also placed second in the 60m, running a time of 7.61 in the finals and 7.56 in the prelims.
Pratt took home the title in the weight throw at the invite, throwing a new personal-best of 59′-2.25” (18.04m) in the event. Pratt also finished third in the shot put with a toss of 43′-6” at the meet. In all, Pratt competed against 36 other competitors in the weight throw and shot put.
This is the second time for Pratt and third for Love in their careers that they’ve taken home the indoor athlete of the week honor. Love, Pratt and the Racers will return to action this weekend as they head to Bloomington, Ind., for the Indiana Relays.
