Racers lose first OVC game to Jacksonville State

Racers dropped their first OVC game on Saturday March 30, when they played Jacksonville State University.

Junior Sara Loncarevic and senior Amina Hadzic picked up the first doubles set for the Racers 6-5. However, Murray State dropped its next two sets, losing the doubles point.

Sophomore Stasya Sharapova and junior Anja Loncarevic lost their set 2-6. Junior Claire Chang and senior Jeanne Masson came up short 5-7.

Sharapova and sophomore Aarja Chakraborty picked up two of the three singles matches on the day when they won their matches 6-2, 6-2, and Hadzic picked up her match 6-2, 7-6.

The Gamecocks picked up the other three singles matches in three set thrillers to clinch the game.

Chang lost in tough match 6-4, 4-6, 1-6, Anja Loncarevic picked up the first set in her match 7-6, but lost the next two 6-2, 6-2, and Sara Loncarevic dropped the first set 3-6, won the next set 6-2 and dropped the last set 0-6.
