Murray State’s Racer Restart Initiative includes university health procedures that will be monitored by health services and Primary Care Medical Center.

The main objective of the health procedures is to ensure all students, faculty and staff are suitably equipped to monitor their health in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak as we return to campus.

Health services will supply all campus students, faculty and staff with thermometers, which they are required to use daily in order to check personal temperature. If an individual’s personal temperature is above the CDC’s limit of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, they are advised to stay home or in their residence hall and contact Primary Care immediately.

Individuals displaying symptoms of COVID-19, will be advised to seek testing by on campus health services. While awaiting test results, students and faculty will be required to practice self-quarantining until test results are available. Individuals testing positive will be required to do an additional 14 days of isolation in quarantine.

While vaccination information on COVID-19 is limited at this time, the University has focused on the importance of annual vaccinations, especially flu-vaccinations, which will be available on campus.

The University Health Procedures segment of the Racer Restart Initiative ended with a pledge from the University regarding mental health and well-being of students, faculty and staff. The University also emphasized  the importance of mental health by providing adequate counseling options for students through the University’s Counseling Services. Faculty and staff will also have options for support and counseling through the University’s Employee Assistance Program.
