On Saturday the Racers faced off against the Butler Bulldogs in their centennial seasons home opener. Things got off to a bad start when Racer One’s saddle came loose causing jockey Madison Presley to fall, (Presley only had minor injuries). The Racers led the majority of the second half but were unable to hold on, allowing Butler to kick a field goal and take the lead by two with nine seconds left. Final score Racers – 17, Butler – 19.
