Women’s basketball graduate forward Katelyn Young was named National Player of the Week by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association on Tuesday, Jan. 28. This accolade came a day after she was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week on Jan. 27.
Young scored 33 points against Indiana State on Jan. 24 and 25 against Evansville on Jan. 26. She averaged 29 points and eight rebounds on 73% shooting for the week, and went 13-13 from the free throw line across both games.
Young looks to pick up where she left off when the women’s basketball team travels to Nashville, Tennessee, to play the Belmont Bruins on Saturday, Feb. 1.
