On Saturday, the Racers faced off against the Belmont Bruins in their fifth Missouri Valley Conference matchup.
The Racers got off to a hot start, making six straight shots to take a four point lead with 13:00 left in the first half. However, with nine turnovers in the half, the Racers gave up the lead to a Bruins 17-4 run, with the Bruins going on to end the half with a score of 55-37. The Bruins went on to dominate the second half, keeping their lead at 14 points or higher.
While not the outcome the Racers were hoping for, a significant milestone was reached during the game. JaCobi Wood became the 48th member of the Racer 1,000-Point Club, now with 1,010 points.
