The results for the Calloway County general election shows 68% of voters in favor of former President Donald Trump and Vice-Presidential candidate J.D. Vance.
Of the roughly 17,000 ballots cast earlier today, more than 11,000 comprise votes for the Trump and Vance campaign while approximately 5,000 of the ballots vote for Vice President Kamala Harris and Vice-Presidential candidate Tim Walz. With a 56% turnout rate in Calloway County, the Republican party majority elected Trump and Vance as the winners of the Calloway County general election.
The winners of the local election in Calloway County are as follows:
- UNITED STATES REPRESENTATIVE in CONGRESS 1st Congressional District: James R. Comer, Republican (Incumbent): 11,884 in favor (70.78% of total votes)
- STATE SENATOR 1st Senatorial District: Jason G. Howell, Republican, incumbent: unopposed
- STATE REPRESENTATIVE 5th Representative District: Mary Beth Imes, Republican, incumbent: 10,620 votes in favor (63.41% of total votes)
- COMMONWEALTH’S ATTORNEY 42nd Judicial Circuit: Dennis R. Foust, independent: unopposed
- CIRCUIT COURT CLERK: Melinda Starks, Republican: unopposed
- JUDGE of the COURT of APPEALS 1st Appellate District 2nd Division (Unexpired Term): Lisa Payne Jones: 6,909 votes in favor (65.64% of total votes)
- OIL and WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT SUPERVISORS: Bobby Hill, Don Overby, Mark Wilson, Steve Carraway
· CITY COUNCIL City of Murray: John “Joe” Darnell: 1,628 votes in favor (5.7% of total votes), Rose Ross: 2,186 in favor (7.65% of total votes), Danny O. Hudspeth: 2,673 in favor (9.36% of total votes), Johnny Bohannon: 2,081 in favor (7.29% of total votes), Wesley Bolin: 2,289 in favor (8.01% of total votes), Thomas Hornbuckle, Jr.: 1,887 in favor (6.61% of total votes), Linda Cherry: 2,172 in favor (7.6% of total votes), Terry Strieter: 1,718 in favor (6.02% of total votes), Bonnie C.
