The Murray State men’s golf team finished fourth in their second event of the fall at the Grover Page Classic in Jackson, Tennessee, on Sept. 16-17.
The event was supposed to see each team play 54 holes but due to heavy rainfall, 36 holes were played instead.
The Racers finished with a total score of 568, which was one point shy of third place Morehead State and nine points shy of the winners, SIU-Edwardsville, who shot a 559.
Senior Jay Nimmo led the way for the Racers after he carded a 139 for the event, seeing him finish in ninth place individually.
Murray State’s first event this year took place at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational on Sept. 9-10. The Racers finished eighth behind the play of senior Kamaren Cunningham, who shot a 206 for the event and was one shot off of the eventual winner, Marshall’s Cameron Jarvis, who shot a 205.
The Racers’ next event is on Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate in Jonesboro, Arkansas, at the RidgePointe Country Club.
