Ja Morant was inducted into the 42nd class of the Murray State University Hall of Fame Saturday night during Hoopalooza.
Other members of the Hall of Fame class are Daniel Calhoun (baseball, 2006-09), Becca Lamb (volleyball, 2007-10), Velvet Milkman (women’s golf coach, 1993-2022), Miyah Watford (women’s soccer, 2017-19), Quincy Williams (football, 2014-18) and Jack Wolf (football, 1967-71). The rest of the class will be inducted in early 2025 at a later date.
Morant was the second overall pick in the NBA draft in 2019 by the Memphis Grizzlies. He was the 2019-20 NBA Rookie of the Year and has recorded two NBA All-Star game starts. As a Racer, Morant scored 1,213 points over two seasons.
