The Murray State women’s golf team placed seventh against 15 other teams at the Bama Beach Bash event in Gulf Shores, Alabama, on March 19-21.
One of Murray State’s featured players, sophomore Ana Garcia Picchi, placed in the top-ten for the second time in her golf career. Picchi placed eighth with scores of 76-76-73—225. Senior Raeysha Surendran carded 72-78-83—233 and placed 32nd while junior Sarah Forsythe placed 36th with scores of 79-75-80—234. Sophomore Payton Carter stroked a line of 83-80-76—239 and placed 46th.
Fifteen players competed as individuals in the tournament. Among these were freshman Emmie Erickson, who placed 32nd overall with scores of 77-75-81—233 and graduate student Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria, who placed 46th with scores of 81-78-80—239.
The Murray State women’s golf team will compete next in Chattanooga, Tennessee, for the Chattanooga Invitational at the Black Creek Golf Club on Monday, March 29 and Tuesday, March 30.
