Ribs, brisket and pulled pork are just a few menu items at Murray’s newest restaurant, Woody’s Bar-B-Q.
The new restaurant, Woody’s Bar-B-Q, opened on Jan. 22, near QDOBA.
Tammy Willie is the co-owner of the franchise along with her husband Kevin. They started working on bringing the Florida based restaurant to Murray last spring.
Tammy said they drove to Jacksonville, Florida hoping the food tasted good, and it was.
“I always dreamed of opening one. Open a restaurant,” Tammy said. “This one in particular was really good, and there wasn’t any around here.”
Randy Louis, manager of Woody’s Bar-B-Q, said they had a good opening day.
“We had people driving up before we even opened wanting to know when,” Louis said.
Louis said it’s different from what this area is used to.
The restaurant serves items like pulled pork, ribs, and their signature sandwich, sloppy woody.
Tammy said the sloppy woody is the pulled pork with a lot of secret sauce and the barbeque sandwich is made with sliced pork.
Woody’s Bar-B-Q also serves beer and wine.
Tammy said they’re looking into catering and delivery to the Murray city limits in the future as well.
Woody’s Bar-B-Q, offers a 10 percent discount to Murray State students and faculty with their school ID.
