Interim Provost Tim Todd will return as dean of the Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business effective April 1, leaving the interim provost position open, according to emails sent to the university community by Todd and President Bob Davies Friday.
Davies wrote in his email that he will appoint someone to the position as soon as possible and Todd will remain as interim provost and leader of the Academic Budget Task Force during the transition.
Todd has served as interim provost since former Provost and vice president of Academic Affairs Jay Morgan left the university last summer.
Since the release of Gov. Matt Bevin’s proposed budget the search for provost has been halted. In a previous interview, Vice President of Marketing and Outreach Adrienne King said the search process was put on hold pending further budget discussion.
Davies wrote that he knows this was not an easy decision for Todd, but knows his commitment to the College of Business.
“I have great respect for Tim and support his wish to return to the deanship in the College of Business,” Davies said. “He encapsulates the heart and soul of Murray State’s vision for student success. Tim will continue to serve Murray State well and will remain an exemplary leader.”
