An anonymous bomb threat was called in at Calloway County Middle School at 10:30 a.m. today.
“Murray State Police, Kentucky State Police and the Calloway County Sheriff swept the entire building, but found nothing,” Tanya Hunter, Calloway County Board of Education Public Relations Officer said.
Hunter said the students were immediately evacuated to the bleachers at the football stadium for about an hour and a half before they were allowed back in the building.
She said teachers and other employees voluntarily inspected the building as well after the building was determined safe by officials.
Hunter said these types of threats are not common to this school system.
“I can’t even remember when the last one was,” she said.
