More than half the tickets have sold for Jack Harlow’s Dec. 1 concert at the CFSB Center.
Tickets went on sale Aug. 23, and within five days, only 258 were still available, according to university officials.
“We are so excited to be having a concert back on campus for our Murray State students, especially Jack Harlow,” Student Government Association President Ellie McGowan said about the upcoming concert. “Coming into this office in the fall of 2022, it was a priority of mine and our executive team to help bring a concert back to campus for our students.”
McGowan said the concert has been in the works for quite some time. Planning the concert was a combined effort between SGA, University President Bob Jackson and the Murray State Athletics office.
Murray State students have expressed their excitement about the concert, even those who are not familiar with Harlow’s music.
“I am not personally super familiar with his music, but I know that people are very excited for Jack to come,” said Karly Damn, a sophomore music business major. “I think this kind of live event will bring a lot of people on this campus together, and it will bring the community together as well for a fun time.”
Students were able to purchase tickets without a problem, but Damn said she heard some frustration from students who had purchased tickets before the student discount was announced.
“I think it’s crazy how Murray State gave us the discount after like 80% of the tickets were sold,” said Jack Daughaday, a junior psychology major. “That’s insane behavior.”
The concert is part of Harlow’s No Place Like Home tour, which features stops across his home state of Kentucky, including performances in Owensboro, Lexington and on Western Kentucky University’s campus in Bowling Green.
“Murray State is such a wonderful place, and there are so many things that factor into a positive student experience,” McGowan said. “It is our goal to help students have a phenomenal Racer experience both inside and outside the classroom, and we are hopeful that this concert will aid this positive experience!”
